A patient can access their e-booking registration by inserting the following address into their web browser:

https://yourclinic.inputhealth.com/ebooking


A CHR user can enable patient access to their clinic's online booking page by navigating to

  • Settings > Scheduling > Appointment Type

  • Select a specific Appointment Type and configuring the eBooking as required

Icon - This is the icon beside the appointment type the patient sees when eBooking.

Name - This is the name of the appointment type the patient sees when eBooking.

Minimum Booking Notice - This is the minimum amount of notice your clinic requires for patients booking this appointment type online.

Maximum Booking Notice - This is the farthest in advance a patient can book this appointment type online.

Default Status from Patient - This is the default status that appears in the schedule when a patient has booked this appointment type online.

Note: ‘Requested’ status requires staff to manually accept eBooking requests (via the schedule).

Show Location on Appointment Letter - This setting determines whether the location information and map will appear on the patient notification for this appointment type.

Types of Patients Allowed to Book - This setting indicates whether new patients and/or existing patients can book this appointment type online:

  • ‘New Patients’ - If ‘New Patients’ are allowed to book, they will be able to register and eBook an appointment, which creates a chart in the CHR for them.

  • ‘Existing Patients’ - If ‘Existing Patients’ are allowed to book, the existing patient will need to authenticate to login to e-booking.

Note: To turn off online eBooking for patients, ensure that both ‘New’ and ‘Existing’ Patients are unchecked for all appointment types in your account.

The Appointment can be Booked With - This is based on the primary practitioner in the patient chart.

  • Any practitioner offering the appointment - This allows the appointment to be booked with any practitioner that has this appointment type configured in their schedule.

  • The patient’s practitioner of choice - This allows the patient to select a practitioner during the e-booking process.

  • The patient’s primary practitioner or an alternate practitioner - This allows the patient to only be able to book this appointment type with their primary practitioner or any of the practitioners listed as alternative practitioners in the appointment type settings.

Practitioner Search at Registration Step

  • Disable - Patients do not select a practitioner when entering/confirming their registration information for the eBooking appointment.

  • Visible - When visible, this allows the patient to see all the practitioners selected when booking an appointment online (specific practitioners can be selected by clicking on the blue underlined writing).

  • Required to select a practitioner - If selected, the patient is required to select a practitioner to proceed with eBooking.

Auto Assigning Appointment Time

  • Disable - The patient will be allowed to select an appointment start time from a list of available appointment times.

  • Enable - The system will automatically assign the next available appointment date and time to the patient when making an online appointment (i.e. the patient will not be able to choose a date or time for the appointment).

Tip: This is different from ‘stacking’ appointments, which is a setting in scheduling hours that allows the patient to select a date and the system assigns the next available appointment.
