Overview of CHR voice assistant

⚠️ Important: This is currently a beta feature, available to a few CHR beta users in order to test and provide feedback. It will be available to more users once the beta period is complete.

The CHR voice assistant allows you to perform administrative tasks with one click using spoken commands. The CHR voice assistant is safe and secure; it is only listening once you click the microphone icon. The voice assistant data is not kept, or accessed by anyone. When the CHR voice assistant is activated, you see a red circle in your browser tab.

With the CHR voice assistant, you can:

The CHR voice assistant deactivates and clears its memory when it is not used for 30 seconds, or you click anywhere in the TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR).

You can pause the CHR voice assistant, for example, if you need to manually do something, or have a conversation with someone. After the CHR voice assistant processes your first command, click the microphone icon, and a pause icon appears. Click the microphone icon again to continue. The CHR voice assistant does not clear its memory, and you can continue where you left off.

📌 Note: You must pause the CHR voice assistant within 30 seconds of its next prompt, and it can only be paused for 30 seconds.

The first time you use the CHR voice assistant, you may need to allow permission to your microphone. Click Allow in the Use microphone? popup window. For more information, refer to the Chrome Help page.

💡 Tip: To move the microphone icon to a different location, drag and drop the icon to the desired location.
