Adding an unrecognized pharmacy from a dispense notification
Updated over a month ago

📌 Note: This is currently a beta feature, available to a few CHR beta users to test and provide feedback. It will be available to more users once the beta period is complete.

When a patient takes a deferred prescription to a pharmacy you have not dealt with before, the dispense notification shows Unknown Pharmacy and the provider receives a message in their inbox. You can review the pharmacy details and add them to your Contacts list directly from the dispense notification.

Steps

1. From your Inbox, open the PrescribeIT Dispense Notification Unrecognized Pharmacy message. The message shows the patient and the medication.

2. Click View Dispense to open the patient's chart.

3. Locate the medication that was referenced in the message and click the Dispenses tab. Dispensed By shows Unrecognized Pharmacy.

💡 Tip: Hover over Unrecognized Pharmacy to see the pharmacy name, phone and fax numbers, and Provider Registry ID.

4. Click Add to Contacts.

5. The Create Facility window opens with the pharmacy's information pre-populated. Click Save.

📌Note: The CHR checks for duplicate pharmacies before saving the new pharmacy. If there is another pharmacy with the same name, address, fax number and province, a warning message appears indicating there is a duplicate pharmacy. If that happens, click Okay to close the warning. Take note of the pharmacy's Provider Registry ID and add it to the existing (duplicate) pharmacy in your Contacts list.

The pharmacy name now shows in the dispense notification and is added to your Contacts list, and the message in your inbox is automatically marked as done.
