Improvements
Synchronizing patient language preferences
Patient language preferences are now managed in a single, streamlined way. This change standardizes the language selection process, aligning with language options in Patient Data and the Update Patient window.
The updated language fields in Patient Data > Demographics now include Preferred Language (formerly Primary Language), Notification Language, and Other Spoken Languages (formerly Secondary Language).
Preferred Language offers an extensive list of languages.
The new Notification Language field enables you to specify whether patients receive communications in English or French, independent of their preferred spoken language.
Other Spoken Languages now offers an extensive list of languages, replacing the checkboxes.
In the Update Patient window, the previous free text Language field is replaced with Preferred Language and Notification Language.
For more information, refer to Updating and validating patient demographics.
Redesigned inbox: Forwarding inbox items to recent recipients
If you often forward inbox items to the same CHR users or user groups, forwarding those items is now easier. In the Forward window, when you click or type in the Recipient field, your most recent recipients (up to three) appear at the top of the list under Recent.
Redesigned inbox: Visual improvements
As part of our ongoing usability and design improvements to the inbox, the following updates have been added:
When you set a personal view as default, your selected default view appears directly above the Personal views section to make it easier to distinguish from other views.
When you snooze an item in your inbox, in the Snooze until window, Patient's next appointment is now in bold and you can clearly separate the appointment from other snooze options.
Starting encounters from the patient summary
You can now document patient visits directly from the Summary view. When you click the new + icon in the section header of Encounters, the window opens on the right and you can continue without navigating away from the patient summary.
Automatic saving when printing or generating PDF forms and letters
The CHR now automatically saves changes when you print or generate a PDF for new or modified forms and letters. You no longer need to manually save first, removing an extra click from your workflow.
Injections table variable now lists injections by date administered
When you use a template with the injection table variable in a letter, encounter or message, the table displays in reverse chronological order of the administered date, with the most recent injections at the top of the list.
Demographic snapshot on pathway cards
In Pathways, when you hover over a patient's name in a pathway card, a demographics snapshot now appears and you can verify basic patient information quickly eliminating the need to open the full patient chart.
Improving billing number management for Healthcare Directory contacts
For clinics using the Healthcare Directory, the CHR now saves and displays the first billing code for contacts that have multiple billing numbers. If a billing code is not available, the field remains blank. You can search contacts by billing or reference number using at least three digits. This streamlined approach ensures accurate billing information is displayed.
PrescribeIT®: Preventing duplicate document saves
📌Note: PrescribeIT® is currently available only for a select few TELUS CHR users. It will be more widely available in the future.
For PrescribeIT® enabled clinics, when viewing pharmacy communication attachments in the PDF viewer, the system now automatically removes the Save to patient files option after the initial save, preventing duplicate saves when viewing the same document.
AI-powered inbox: Enhanced patient matching with preferred names
For clinics using the CHR AI-powered inbox, incoming documents can now be matched by the patient’s first name or preferred name. This enhancement boosts accuracy and minimizes manual intervention for documents that previously failed to match due to the preferred name not being included in the patient search logic.
Manitoba: Extended clinic hours billing rules updates
Following Manitoba Health's September 2024 update, new validation rules are implemented for extended clinic hours billing. Now when you create a bill and click Extended Clinic Hours, the appropriate code (75530 or 75531) is applied and the premium, based on the bill's other fee codes, is calculated. To ensure compliance, an error message now appears in the CHR when you attempt to apply extended hours billing when the criteria are not met. For more information, refer to Applying extended clinic hour premiums to bills (Manitoba).
Fixes
Patients can view available appointment slots up to 13 months when an appointment's Maximum Booking Notice is set to Unlimited.
Cancelled and Rejected appointments no longer become active again, with a status of Being Seen, if the appointment type has an auto-assigned workflow phase set and the pathway transition is configured to automatically create an encounter note.
When you unsubscribe from a snoozed message, it no longer appears in both the Active and Snoozed filters.
All users cannot unsubscribe from a message, ensuring it appears in the Messages section of the patient's chart.
When adding or editing a referral, the button to attach a file from the patient chart appears for patients with a very long name.
The referral PDF retains the signature and date on an attached PDF file even if the PDF is malformed.
You can no longer select a referral for a patient in a group visit.
The Growth Chart data from the duplicate patient is retained when merging patient charts.
The correct end time is displayed when viewing Upcoming appointments from the patient chart header.
In the Homepage, you can adjust the font colour when adding or editing the Bulletin board message.
You can once again preview a Qnaire template.
When you reorder presenting issues, your changes are saved.
If you have French enabled and selected as your CHR language, you can upload files in the Patient files section of the patient chart.
