Allowing patients to request appointments online on statutory holidays
Updated over 9 months ago

Your TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) comes pre-loaded with a default list of statutory holidays that are specific to the province where your clinic is located.

If a statutory holiday falls on a day that you usually see patients, you can manually book appointments from the schedule.

Patients however cannot request appointments online using the eBooking portal. To allow eBooking, you must add holiday exemptions for these holidays.

💡 Tip: If you have the Scheduling Settings permissions, you can change your clinic's statutory holiday template to another country and province's. Click Settings > Scheduling > Extra > select the Country and Province from the Holiday Template list.

Holidays appear at the top of the provider's schedule with the day/date highlighted in green. You see the name of the statutory holiday when you hover over the date.

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Settings > Scheduling > Hours.

  2. Next to the provider's name, click Edit and then Holidays. The <Provider Name> Holiday Exempts window appears.

  3. Click Add Holiday Exempt.

  4. Select the holiday that you want to allow patients to request appointments online.

The selected holiday is displayed in a list. Repeat the above step to add other holidays. Already selected holidays appear greyed out in the list.

  5. To remove an added holiday exemption, from the list, hover over one and click the trash icon.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Refresh your browser to see the chosen holidays appear available in the eBooking portal.
