⚠️ Important: This is currently a beta feature, available to a few CHR beta users in order to test and provide feedback. It will be available to more users once the beta period is complete.
The AI copilot in the CHR provides patient-specific suggestions and enables real-time collaboration during encounters. You can use it to work with specialized AI agents, manage automated recommendations, and coordinate with other healthcare providers in real time.
Each AI agent focuses on a single clinical area (such as Family History or Social History) and tailors responses to the current patient and encounter. When you open the AI copilot from a Family History suggestion, you can only interact with the Family History agent. This behaviour applies to all other specialized agents.
Steps
Click the AI icon on any suggestion badge to launch the AI copilot on the right side of your screen.
The AI copilot opens and you can review the information specific to your current patient and encounter. To close the side panel, click the X in the top right corner.
Hover over the suggestion badges to view more details about the recommendations for the selected area, the AI agent's suggested updates, its reasoning behind these suggestions, and the source information from the encounter.
After reviewing the initial information, you can add more details or ask questions using the chat interface at the bottom of the side panel.
📌 Note: The Send icon is greyed out until you start typing.
Type the specific task or modification request, for example, changing a relationship status. When you click Send, the AI agent responds and you can review its answer in the chat thread.
Multiple providers can chat in the AI copilot at one time. Your messages appear in blue, while other providers’ messages appear in grey. When other providers accept or modify suggestions, all users can see these actions immediately.
Once you’ve reviewed all suggestions, click Accept all to approve them at once, or Dismiss all to reject them.
💡 Tip: You can accept or dismiss individual suggestions through the chat interface.
The encounter automatically reflects accepted or dismissed suggestions. When you modify a suggestion through chat, the encounter note is not updated until you manually accept the updated suggestion and apply it.
📌 Note: Changes you make in the encounter do not update the text in the WYSIWYG (the user-inputted text)
