You book virtual appointments the same way as other appointments, except you select the Virtual Visit tab instead of Physical Visit.
💡 Tip: if you are booking a phone visit, select Physical Visit, since the workflow for a virtual visit is more complex than is necessary for a phone visit.
Steps
1. From the main menu, click Schedules.
2. Click the time on the schedule to book the appointment. If you are viewing multiple providers' schedules, or are in week view, ensure you click on the time in the appropriate column for the correct provider or day of the week.
3. When the appointment booking window opens, select the Virtual Visit tab. A note appears, indicating that the virtual visit invitation will be sent to the patient by 5 minutes prior to the appointment time.
📌 Note: If you filter the schedule to Virtual, when you book an appointment, the Virtual Visit tab is automatically selected.
4. Complete the appointment booking as you normally would. For more information, see Booking appointments.
Once booked, virtual visit appointments appear with a video camera icon on the schedule.
