The InputHealth CHR files your Inbox Items based on the date they were received.
If you mark an item as done, it will be stored under the date it originally entered your Inbox. This is why past items disappear upon exiting and re-entering your Inbox.
Items received today will remain in your Inbox, even if completed / marked as done, until the following day.
To search for items received on a specific day, navigate to the calendar option in your inbox and select the date the item was received.
