Not all clinics use Fax Integration, or you may have a paper referral that has been scanned into your computer. If this is the case, head to the Referrals Dashboard and click New Referral, then select what kind of Referral you want to create.

  1. Incoming - Coming from outside of your clinic

  2. Internal - Coming from one provider in your clinic, going to another provider within your clinic

  3. Outgoing - Coming from a provider in your clinic, going to a provider outside of your clinic

In this example, we are going to create an Incoming Referral. To learn how to create outgoing referrals, we recommend doing that from the physicians encounter.

Once you have selected what kind of referral you would like to create, this will open the referral management window:

Choose the Reason for Referral (this pulls from your presenting issues, if configured), Ordering Provider (who ordered the Referral), Service Provider (who the patient will see). Attach the Referral Document to the Attachments section and select the patient from your database. 

You will then need to pick the correct status and priority (which are customized on a clinic by clinic basis), complete the Required Actions and then hit Save. 

Your Referral has now been entered.
