The TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) automatically generates a unique ID for each patient within its database. This ID differs from any other identifier set up within the chart, such as provincial health card IDs.

The chart ID is not visible by default within the patient demographics. You must enable showing it if you want to use it as a unique identifier for your patients and to search for patients using this ID.

Once enabled, it appears in the ID field within the patient chart header.

1. From the main menu, click Settings > Patient.

2. Scroll down to the the Additional Settings section.

3. Under Show Chart ID in header, select Yes.

4. Click Save Extra Settings.
