Adding unique lab identifiers to your CHR account
Updated this week

The majority of the time, the TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) matches incoming electronic labs to the provider's inbox using the provider's billing number saved in their CHR user profile. However, sometimes the lab distributors Excelleris, Dynacare, eHealth, Meditech, and Unicity use other identifiers.

If the lab distributor assigns a provider a unique identifier, you must add it to your CHR account. This ensures that when labs are received, they go to the provider's inbox rather than your clinic's Miscellaneous Labs inbox.

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Settings > Labs.

  2. Under Unique Identifiers from Lab Distributors, click + Lab ID.
The Create a new lab ID window appears.

  3. Under Lab Distributor, click the arrow and select your lab distributor from the list.

  4. Under Provider User, select the user from the list.

  5. Under Lab ID, enter the provider's unique lab identifier.

⚠️ Important: The unique lab identifier is case sensitive.

📌Note: To populate a specific lab ID into a form by default, when configuring the lab ID variable, enter that lab ID last in the list.

  6. Click Submit.

  7. Repeat for each provider’s identifier.

  8. Refresh your browser.
