Creating Staff Actions for your Pathways

You can use Staff Actions to keep track of what needs to be done before, during, and after an appointment.

Staff actions are a shortcut to a specific section of the patient’s chart and open that area so that you can perform the designated action. Staff actions cannot open a specific item, but rather take you to the required section of the patient chart. Once an action is performed, you must manually mark the task as done. It is a way for you to track and make sure that all actions related to the appointment are completed. For more information, see Assigning tasks and tags to a virtual visit.

The available staff actions are:

  • Chat

  • Encounter

  • Appointment

  • Answer Sheet (Qnaire responses section)

  • Form

  • Patient File (Patient files section)

  • Prescription

  • Scheduled Qnaire

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Settings > Pathways > Staff Actions.

  2. Click Add Staff Action, or to edit an existing staff action, click it. The Edit Staff Action window opens.

    💡 Tip: To delete a staff action, click the x.

  3. Type a Name.

  4. From the Type list, select the action.

  5. Click Save.
