Consult report information sent to Alberta Netcare via CII

Below is a detailed list of all data elements from the CHR that are sent to Alberta Netcare for a consult report and where to find them in the CHR.

Patient demographics

Each time a consult report is sent, the following elements of the patient’s demographics are sent as well.

Encounter information

Encounter masking flag

Encounter > Accessibility.

If the patient's encounter is restricted to one or more users, This encounter is confidential appears next to the Send to Netcare checkbox. If you choose to submit the consult report to Netcare anyway, the masking flag is sent as false.

If the consult report was not created via an encounter, the masking flag is sent as false.

Encounter status

Always sent as "Update".

Patient reason for encounter

Appointment details > Presenting Issue or Encounter > Presenting Issue if the encounter was created without an appointment.

This field is not sent to Netcare if the consult report was created directly from the Letters or Referrals area.

Encounter date

Encounter > Created On.

If the consult report was not created via an encounter, then it is Referrals > Outgoing > Date Added.

Provider information

Each time a consult report is sent, the following provider information is sent as well. The provider information sent is for the ordering provider identified on the outgoing referral.

Settings > Account > User > General tab > Middle Name

Provider first name

Settings > Account > User > General tab > First Name

Provider identifier

Settings > Account > User > Integrations tab > Practitioner ID.

If the Practitioner ID is not available, the license number is used (Settings > Account > User > General tab > License Number).

If there is no Practitioner ID or License Number, a CHR internal ID is sent (this ID is not visible in the CHR).

Provider expertise

Settings > Account > User > Integrations tab > Specialty

Provider role

Settings > Account > User > General tab > Occupation

Facility and location information

Each time a consult report is sent, the following facility and location elements are sent as well.

For the delivery location, if the consult report is created from an encounter linked to an appointment, and the appointment is a Physical Visit, the location of the appointment is used. If the appointment location is virtual, the consult report is not sent.

If the consult report is not linked to an appointment (created from the Letters or Referrals area), the user's currently logged in location is used. If the current location is a virtual location, the consult report is not sent.

Settings > Scheduling > Locations > ZIP/Postal Code
