Previously, virtual visits could only be booked in the Virtual location, which is in your CHR account’s time zone. You can now book virtual visits in any location and in any time zone.
In other words, you can book physical and virtual appointments in the same location in the schedule, making booking appointments more intuitive. This also provides a consistent workflow for booking physical and virtual appointments. And, if you have multiple locations in the same time zone, the schedule now accurately reflects which location the virtual visit is for.
⚠️Important: This update does not affect your existing scheduled virtual appointments. They remain in a location called Virtual, with the time zone unchanged.
To avoid confusion and having virtual visits booked both in the Virtual location and a physical location, continue booking virtual appointments in the Virtual location until you have moved your upcoming virtual appointments and provider virtual working hours to your physical clinic location. Only then do we recommend to start booking virtual visits in the physical clinic location.
When booking a virtual appointment, make sure Virtual under Location is selected (and not one of your clinic’s physical locations).
You can choose to immediately move your upcoming virtual appointments and working hours yourself, or wait for TELUS Health to move them within the next few weeks.

Immediately move all your upcoming virtual appointments and provider working hours from the Virtual location to the same location as their physical (in-person) working hours and appointments. This way, you can book both physical and virtual appointments using the same location.
⚠️Important: The above migration only applies to upcoming scheduled virtual appointments. Virtual appointments in the past do not move over to the new location.
This includes:

Steps
1. From the main menu, click Settings > Scheduling > Hours
2. Beside the provider's name, click Edit, and select Standard and the Manage Work Hours window appears.
3. Select the Virtual tab to view the schedule for virtual visits.
4. Click a work hour block and under Location, select the clinic location where physical appointments are offered.
5. Click Save.

Steps
1. From the main menu, click Settings > Scheduling > Hours.
2. Next to the provider's name, click Edit, and then select Flex.
3. Select the Virtual location working hour slots
The Add Flexible Hour window opens.
4. Under Location, select the clinic location where physical appointments are offered.
5. Click Save.

⚠️ Important: Before you can continue to the below steps, you must update all providers' working hours by moving their virtual schedules.
Steps
1. From the main menu, click Settings > Scheduling > Location
2. Scroll down to the Virtual location and click the trash icon next to it. A Transfer Appointment window appears asking you where you want to move your Virtual location appointments to.
3. Select the clinic location where physical appointments are offered at
4. Clear the field Send notifications to all associated patients, and click Continue.

Wait for TELUS Health to move your upcoming virtual appointments and provider working hours from the Virtual location to your clinic’s physical location. TELUS Health will notify you when this will occur.
