CHR Beta Clinic Program FAQs
Updated over a year ago

Thank you for working with us to improve the CHR experience by participating in our Beta Clinic Program! Clinics in the CHR Beta Clinic Program gain exclusive early access to all new CHR features before their official release in order to test the feature and provide critical feedback. Input from beta clinics helps to improve these features, and plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the CHR.

Frequently asked questions

How do I sign up our clinic to beta test new features?

Please email chr-beta-program@telus.com to express your interest in becoming part of the Beta Clinic Program.

Why was I sent an invitation to be a beta clinic?

You either expressed interest in being a beta clinic to a CHR team member or you were nominated by a CHR team member familiar with your clinic (such as a Customer Service Manager or Project Manager). Clinics are invited to the Beta Clinic Program if they:

  • have completed basic training;

  • have some users with intermediate to high technical understanding;

  • are willing to learn and try new workflows and features;

  • are comfortable providing regular, clear feedback;

  • are prepared to deal with and report defects (as they can and will arise in new features);

  • are willing to use workarounds when needed; and/or

  • are representative of a specific subset of CHR clinics and users. (We aim to include a diversity of CHR clinics and users across regions, spoken languages, specialties, and other parameters).

What are the benefits of joining the Beta Clinic Program?

You gain exclusive early access to new CHR features! You also have a direct channel to our Product Management team, so that your questions, feedback, and any issues you report with beta features are prioritized. Your insights and input are then used to make informed decisions to further enhance beta features, resulting in meaningful change to the CHR product and your user experience.

How long will I be in the Beta Clinic Program?

You will be in the Beta Clinic Program for as long as you like – there is no term for beta clinics. You can opt out at any time by emailing chr-beta-program@telus.com.

How often will I be asked to beta test a new feature or improvement?

This depends on when beta features become available. New CHR versions are released on a regular bi-weekly schedule so, at most, new features may be available bi-weekly.

How will I know if a feature is available for beta testing?

When you log into the CHR, a pop-up window will be displayed, telling you about the new beta feature(s) available for testing. You may have seen similar pop-up windows in the past when we released new features to all our users, such as the example below.

From the pop-up window for a new beta feature, you can:

  • access more information about the feature (click a hyperlink);

  • dismiss the message permanently (Do not show me this again); or

  • snooze the message to review it later (Remind me later).

Does the CHR team have any tips or guidelines for testing?

When you choose to test a beta feature, please take note of:

  • Any bugs or errors you encounter

  • Your feedback about how easy or hard the feature is for you to learn and use

  • Your overall impression of the feature

  • Any suggestions you have for improving the feature

  • Any questions you have about the feature.

Where can I find information or help for a beta feature?

Refer to the pop-up message for additional tips or tricks and, when applicable, a link to a help article which provides more information and steps on using the feature. You can also search for a help article in the Beta features section of the online help.

How do I send feedback, ask questions, or report issues for beta features?

Each time you visit the area of the CHR where the new beta feature is available, you will see a Share your feedback! pop-up message. You will be guided to share your feedback through this message.

How long is a feature available for beta testing?

Beta testing periods are typically two weeks, starting from when you are notified that a new beta feature is available. We encourage you to use the beta feature as much as possible throughout the testing period, and to share your feedback at any time through the Share your feedback! pop-up window.
