After sending an eReferral from the CHR, you can track the status of it either within the Ocean portal or within the CHR.

When the status of the eReferral changes in the Ocean portal, the outgoing Referral status in the CHR automatically updates.

You can track the status of an eReferral at any time from the following areas:

  • Referrals dashboard > Status column.

  • Patient Chart > Referrals > Status column.

📌 Note: To view more information about the status of the referral, including the appointment date and time, and a copy of the PDF referral, open the outgoing referral and scroll down to Ocean Referral Details.

Below is a summary of the outgoing eReferral statuses to help you track your referral:

📌Note: When you create an outgoing referral in the CHR, the default status is clinic-specific. Once you send the referral, you see an eReferral-specific status.

eReferral status in the CHR

Description

eReferral sent

The referral was successfully sent to the Ocean portal.

📌Note: A copy of the completed PDF is automatically saved in the patient’s chart and in the outgoing referral.

eReferral pending

The referral was sent to the Ocean portal and the service provider accepted it. No appointment date and time has been allocated yet.

eReferral unconfirmed

The service provider accepted the referral and scheduled an appointment for the patient. The patient has not yet confirmed the appointment.

eReferral confirmed

The service provider accepted the referral and scheduled an appointment for the patient. The patient or the service provider confirmed the appointment date and time.

eReferral completed

The appointment has either been completed, cancelled or declined.
