What’s new in the CHR

Improvements

Viewing a patient’s allergies in the chart header

To improve your experience and based on your valuable feedback, we are excited to announce that you can now see any allergies with a status of Active, Confirmed, Unconfirmed or no status in the patient chart header. This ensures clear visibility of allergies in every section of the patient's chart.

When a patient has active drug or non-drug allergies, an allergy indicator shows in the patient chart header with the number of allergies in brackets. Additionally, a red alert appears if there are any severe allergies. Click the Allergies(x) indicator to see a summary of the allergies. For more information, refer to Recording patient allergies.

Marking a forwarded inbox item as urgent

You can now add an urgent status to a fax, lab, document, or file when forwarding it from the inbox.

When you forward an item that's already marked as urgent, the Mark as urgent checkbox is selected automatically.

Additionally, the recipient search field has been updated. Your selected recipients now appear above the search field, and when you select a user group, the group name displays instead of the individual users. To remove a recipient, click the X beside their name.

Cloning a fee item on a bill

When you create or edit an insured bill, you now have two options for duplicating a fee item that you added in a previous claim: copying and cloning.

Copying retains the existing functionality; it copies the fee items but excludes date and time fields, like the Service Date. This is helpful if you need to bill the same codes, but for a different visit.

On the other hand, cloning is an exact replica of every field in the fee item, including the date and time fields. This is helpful if you need to recreate the entire bill, for example to resubmit.

In the Edit Insured Payment or New Insured Payment window, when adding a fee item, click the clock icon beside the +Add Fee Item field. Beside the fee code, select the copy or clone icon to duplicate the bill.

💡Tip: Hover over the icons to see a tooltip for each.

Alberta: Streamlined access to the WCB Form Status

When creating or editing a WCB form, the Form Status section is now at the end of the form, just before saving. Additionally, in the top numbered bar, it is moved to the last step. This change saves time when setting the form status to Ready after completing the form.

PEI: Fee code update

We added new fee codes and updated others.

  • You can now bill tariff 2077 under Optometry speciality and fee codes 2070 – 2076 are updated. These codes are effective as of April 1, 2024.

  • You can now use the following specialities: 55-58, 93, 111, 1001-1007.

  • You can now bill fee code 0013 with the specialty 56.

Fixes

Below is a list of bugs we have identified and fixed in this release. For more information, contact our TELUS Health support team.

  • When deleting growth chart entries, the Saved on date in the Delete permanently window shows the created date instead of the current date again.

  • When you merge two patient charts, the open pathway cards associated with the patients are now included.

  • When you manually enter a date, such as a date of birth, you can type only four digits for the year, preventing formatting issues.

  • When you are adding content to your templates Folder you can once again see all of your templates.

  • You can no longer archive a patient chart if you do not have the Archive patients permission.

  • You can no longer create or sign prescriptions in an encounter note if you do not have the Create prescriptions permission.

  • For clinics using role-based access control (RBAC):

    • You can now close a case when you have Cases: Create permission but not the Case settings permission.

    • You can now enter manual labs if you have the Lab Results: Create and Patients: Update permissions; previously the Patients: All permission was required.

    • When attaching files to a patient's chart, you now require the Patient Files: Create permission.

  • Alberta: You can now upload a WCB remittance file without a header to the WCB processing section in the CHR.

  • PEI: Multiple labs with the same accession number no longer appear multiple times in the Patient Files section when Show historical versions of files is not selected.
