TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) is delivered through a Software as a Service (SaaS) hosting model with a regionalized Canadian virtual private cloud (VPC) infrastructure. All data in the CHR is stored in Canada.
Operating within a high availability environment, there are 3 complete real-time production copies of all your data in addition to a replica maintained within a geographically disparate facility. This redundancy supports automatic failover in the event of a hardware outage.
The data is backed up daily with versioning allowing for point-in-time recovery within 7 days. Disaster recovery and backups are subject to periodic testing. All data is fully encrypted at rest.
The CHR requires a secure high-speed internet connection. Each clinic must develop a comprehensive disaster recovery plan based on its risk profile for unplanned outages and natural disasters. By preparing for possible disruptions, you can maintain operational continuity even in the face of unexpected events.
