Adding Limited Use (LU) codes to prescriptions (Ontario)

Reason for Use or Limited Use (LU) codes are specific identifiers used in Ontario's drug benefit program. They are used to ensure certain medications are covered by the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) program under specific clinical criteria.

To prescribe limited use drugs, you create the prescription as you normally would, and add the LU code to the Additional Instructions section of the prescription.
