TELUS Health would like to ensure that you are aware of potential additional fees around sms (text) notifications.

Users can easily reach or come very close to reaching their monthly limit of text messages (1000 per paid license).

💡 Tips to avoid this in the future:

  • Make SMS messages 160 characters or less. Any message with more than 160 characters is counted as two or more messages from your carriers' perspective.

  • Patient variables, numbers, symbols and spaces in your text messages count as characters in their full form and can add up. For example: 'Click here to start inputhealth.com/13de123' is equal to 43 characters.

  • Use the below online character counter to ensure your message is less than 160 characters long:

  • Use patients' email addresses to communicate with them instead of sending a SMS.

📌 Note:

To remind our client of the above and to ensure text messages are concise, a warning message appears when text messages are over 2 SMS's. The more text you add, the more segments are required.
