When you create an insured billing item, the default billing status is either Draft or Ready To Submit.
A Draft status means that when you create a bill, you need to manually change the status to Ready To Submit so that it can be submitted. A Ready To Submit status means that when you generate a bill and it is associated with a signed encounter it is automatically submitted.
The default billing status for your CHR domain and all its provider accounts is Draft.
You can change the default billing status to Ready To Submit for any outgoing insured billing item. This can be done on a per user basis.
📌 Note: If you want all providers at your clinic to have the default status as Ready To Submit, contact your project manager or the TELUS Health support team through the in-app support bubble. See Contact us.
From the patient chart, click Start/Open > Insured Billing.
Click the gear icon in the top right corner (next to +New Payment).
Under Default Status, select Draft or Ready.
💡 Tip: If you create bills on behalf of providers at a clinic, you can select Always use billing practitioner's default billing status. For example, provider A wants to check all his bills before submitting them (Draft status), provider B wants you to submit them automatically (Ready status). This ensured that you use the correct default billing status of each provider.
📌 Note: If you have Billing Settings permissions enabled, you can also change the default billing status by clicking Settings > Billing. Under Public Billing Settings, select Ready or Draft.
