Q-codes

Updated over a year ago

If you bill the Ministry of Health (MOH) for the annual Cumulative Preventive Care Bonuses, using the FHO Physician Compliance analytics dashboard, you can determine how much you're entitled to bill.

Using a fake patient with a health card number of 9777777779, you can then bill the appropriate Q-code(s).

Steps

1. Using the FHO Physician Compliance analytics dashboard, determine how much you're entitled to bill for each bonus.

2. In both MD Billing and the CHR, create a fake patient with the following provincial health number: 9777777779 (if you haven't created the patient already). Refer to Adding a fake patient for billing services to OHIP that aren't linked to a patient.

3. From the patient's chart, create a bill for the Q-code. Refer to Creating insured bills from patient charts (Ontario).

📌 Note: Q-codes are billed to the MOH at $0.00. They do not display an attached fee in MD Billing. MOH will calculate the Preventative Care Bonus and pay the physician accordingly.

4. Submit the bill to MDBilling. MDBilling submits the claim to the Ministry without the patient details.
