Setting how far in advance patients can self-book appointment types (eBooking)

For each appointment type available for eBooking, you can set the minimum and maximum booking notice required. When patients book the appointment type online, they are presented with the available appointment dates and times that fall within the specified range.

📌 Note: If you use TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) Connect, for flex hours in your schedule, patients see availability for the next 3 months only. There is no limitation for standard hours. Refer to Setting up a provider schedule.

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Settings > Scheduling and then edit or add the appointment type. Refer to Creating and modifying appointment types.

  2. In the Edit Appointment Type or New Appointment Type window, click the Online Booking tab.

  3. In the Minimum Booking Notice field, select how close to an actual appointment (in days, hours or minutes) the appointment can be booked.

  4. In the Maximum Booking Notice field, select how far in advance the appointment(s) can be booked.

  5. Click Save.
