Setting appointment types to require approval when booked through eBooking
Updated over a year ago

If you want your staff to manually review and approve all eBooked appointments (appointments booked by patients online) with a specific appointment type, you can set the appointment type's default status as Requested. Any eBooked appointment with this status appears in the Requested Appointments area of the schedule, and is not officially booked until a staff member manually approves it.

Steps

1. From the main menu, click Settings > Scheduling and then edit or add the appointment type. See Creating and modifying appointment types.

2. In the Edit Appointment Type or New Appointment Type window, in the DEFAULT STATUS FROM PATIENT list, perform one of the following actions.

  • If appointments with this appointment type require staff approval, choose Requested.

  • Otherwise, select the default appointment status these appointments should have in the schedule, such as Confirmed or Booked.

3. At the bottom of the window, click Submit.
