Allowing new and current patients to self-book an appointment type
Updated over a week ago

For each appointment type, you can choose to allow new and/or current patients (i.e. patients with a chart in your TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR)), to select their appointment type when booking appointments online.

📌 Note: If any appointment type allows new patients to book it online, new patients can self-register at your clinic (i.e. start a chart in your CHR). If you don't want new patients to self-register, make sure none of your appointment types allow new patients to book.

Steps

1. From the main menu, click Settings > Scheduling and edit or add the appointment type. See Creating and modifying appointment types.

2. In the Edit Appointment Type or New Appointment Type window, below Types of patients allowed to book, select one or both of the following checkboxes:

  • New Patients: To allow patients who are not currently registered at your clinic to select this appointment type.

  • Existing Patients: To allow patients who are registered at your clinic to select this appointment type.

📌 Note: If you don't want the appointment type to be available for eBooking at all, clear both check boxes.

3. At the bottom of the window, click Submit.

4. Refresh your browser for the changes to take effect.
