Setting default patient avatars

You can configure the TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) to display a default avatar in patient charts if you have not uploaded a patient photo. You can choose to display the following default gender-specific avatars (based on the patient's gender identity/sex) or a universal avatar.

📌 Note:

Steps

1. From the main menu, click Settings > Patient.

2. Under Additional Settings, scroll to Default Avatar and select one the following options:

Action

Gender based avatar

If no image is uploaded, a patient's default avatar is based on the patient's gender identity as shown above. If the gender identity is not selected, it is based on the selected sex.

📌 Note: If their sex and gender identity are different, the avatar selected is based on the patient's gender identity.

Universal avatar

If no image is uploaded, all patients are assigned the gender-neutral avatar.

3. Click Save Extra Settings.
