You can configure the TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) to display a default gender-specific avatar (based on the patient's gender identity/sex) or a universal avatar (if the patient or clinic has not uploaded a patient photo).
The following avatars are available in the CHR:
Female, Transgender female
Male, Transgender male
Non-binary, Prefer to describe
Clinics can replace the standard CHR avatar with an icon or image. See Updating patient avatars.
Patients can update their own avatars via a Qnaire. See Creating a picture question type in your Qnaire.
From the main menu, click Settings > Patient.
Under Additional Settings, scroll to Default Avatar.
Select from the following options:
Gender based avatar
If no image is uploaded, a patient's default avatar is based on the patient's gender identity. If the gender identity is not selected, it will be based on the selected sex.
📌 Note: If their sex and gender identity are different, then the avatar selected is based on the patient's gender identity.
If no image is uploaded, all patients will be assigned the to gender neutral avatar.
4. Click Save Extra Settings.
