Adding patient data fields to referral items

You can customise patient data fields (and properties) to appear on the right hand side of your incoming, internal and / or outgoing referral items. You can then update patient data in the patient chart directly from the referral item. See Updating patient and referral data from a referral.

📌 Note: If you would like clinic specific patient data added to your CHR domain, speak to your CHR project manager or contact the TELUS Health support team. See Contact us.


  1. From the main menu, click Settings > Referrals > Patient Data.

  2. Under Incoming, Internal or Outgoing Referral, click + Add Patient Data.

    The Add Referral Patient Data window appears.

  3. Under Category, select a patient data category.

  4. Under Data Property, select a patient data property.

  5. Under Visible Data, select a patient data field.

  6. Click Save.

The patient data that is added appears on the right hand side, under Patient Data in the referral item. See example image below:
