🎞️ View video tutorial: Viewing and filtering analytics dashboards

Analytics dashboards allow you to view data from your TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) in different reports. Dashboards are divided into tiles that show reports in the form of graphs or tables.

The TELUS Health data team has created multiple standard or “canned” dashboards that cover most areas of the platform such as appointments, encounters, billing and Qnaires.

To see the list of standard analytics dashboards, refer to Standard analytics dashboards.

📌 Note: You need permission to view the Analytics module. Your account administrator can grant you this permission from account management (Settings > Account > Users list).

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Analytics.

  2. On the right-hand side of the screen, select a dashboard from the list. The dashboard appears.

💡 Tip: Use the Search bar to search for a dashboard.

  3. At the top of the dashboard, select the desired values in the filters. For more information about filters, see Filtering analytics dashboards.

  4. In the top-right corner, click Load.

    The dashboard reports are displayed.

  5. To hide data from a graph, click a label in the legend at the bottom of the graph.

For example, if you click on the confirmed status in the legend of the Appointment By Status graph, the associated bar disappears from the graph.

📌 Note: You can’t hide data from table reports.

  6. To take a closer look at a graph or view more data, you can open it in a separate window. Click the menu icon in the top-right corner of a tile and select View Look.

📌 Note: This option is not available for all graphs.

  7. To make it easier to view data in tables, click the menu icon in a column header and select one of the following options:

    • Freeze: the column is moved to the far left of the table and remains visible when you scroll horizontally.

    • Copy values: copies all values in this column. You can paste it in another document.

    • Autosize All Columns: resizes all columns so that all data is visible within each column.

    • Reset All Column Widths: brings all columns back to their default width.

💡 Tip: You can resize a single column by clicking the right border in the header, and dragging it to the left or to the right. You can also move a column by clicking its header and dragging it to the left or to the right.

  8. To sort a table, click a column header. An arrow appears in the header to indicate the sorting order (ascending or descending). Click in the header again to change the order.

  9. You can view more detailed information on a piece of data from a graph or a table. For more information, see Exploring or drilling into reports.

  10. To refresh all of the reports, click Reload.

⚠️ Important: Sometimes, even after reloading the dashboard, the graphs are not updated. You notice this by the xxm ago text next to the reload icon.

When that happens, click the menu icon in the top-right corner, then select Clear cache and refresh (or press Ctrl {Cmd}+Shift+Enter on your keyboard). The reports are updated and the text changes to just now.

  11. To refresh one report, click the menu icon in the top-right corner of the tile, and select Clear cache & refresh.

📌 Note: You can change the time zone in which the dashboard is displayed. Click the menu icon in the top-right corner and select Viewer time zone. In the window that appears, select the new time zone from the list and finally, click Update.
