What’s new in the CHR
Viewing patient phone numbers in appointments
Previously when booking appointments, or viewing booked appointments, if you wanted to quickly see the patient’s home phone number you had to open their chart. Now, hovering over a patient’s name displays their cell number if there is no home phone recorded or displays both if both are recorded.
Including patient’s contact numbers on patient printouts
To accommodate different types of contact numbers for patients, all patient printouts and prescriptions now include their home, cell, or both phone numbers if recorded in their chart.
Saving a patient’s preferred pharmacy when faxing prescriptions
You can now save or update a patient’s preferred pharmacy when faxing a prescription. When you fax a prescription and add a pharmacy from your Contacts or change the pre-populated pharmacy in the To field, select the Set as patient’s preferred pharmacy checkbox. The pharmacy is saved in the patient chart’s Preferred Pharmacy widget. See Faxing prescriptions for more information.
Improved sort order for date range filter when exporting patient charts
When you use the date range filter to export or print a patient chart, the matching results are now sorted by the date they were created instead of the date they were uploaded to the chart. This makes it easier for you to find the desired documents. For example, you are looking for a document that was created in 2020, but you only uploaded it to the patient’s chart last month. See Printing or exporting patient charts for more information.
Additional statutory holidays added to Holiday Exempts
In addition to existing holiday exempts, the following statutory holidays are now available in the CHR:
Easter Monday
Victoria Day
National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
Thanksgiving Day
Boxing Day
See Allowing patients to request appointments online on statutory holidays for more information.
Fixes
In Ontario, when creating a patient from an HRM file, their health number is now displayed only once in the demographics shown in the Update Patient window.
