Changing user passwords
Updated over a month ago

If a TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) user is unable to change their own password, another user who has the Edit Other Users permission can change their password.

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Settings > Account information > Users.

  2. In the Active members list, click Edit (pencil icon) beside the user for which you want to change the password. The user's settings window appears.

  3. Select the Security tab.

  4. Under Change password, type the user's new temporary password in the New Password field.

📌 Note: The new password must contain at least 8 characters and be one that the user has never used before. As you type the password, an indicator bar displays in red if the password does not meet the criteria, and green if it does.

  5. Re-enter the new password in the Confirm New Password field. Passwords match! shows below the field once the passwords match.

  6. Click Update.

  7. When prompted, type your own password to confirm the changes and click Submit.

  8. A message briefly appears indicating the password was updated, and the user receives a password change notification email.

  9. Click Cancel to close the window.

  10. Provide the temporary password to the user securely and advise them, for security reasons, to change their password immediately after their first login.
