What’s new in the CHR

Improvements

Consistent synchronization of vitals in encounter notes and the Patient Data section

We have improved the synchronization of vitals created within an encounter note and Patient Data > Vitals.

  • When you add vitals in the Examination section of an encounter note, the data is now added in Patient Data > Vitals as soon as you save your encounter note, instead of when you sign it. Additionally, if you add multiple rows of vitals in the encounter, for example, when recording vitals taken at an earlier date, each row is recorded separately in the Patient Data History. The Time column is used to sort the entries in chronological order; previously, the date you signed the encounter was used.

  • Since the date is not always the created date, the Show Last Updated checkbox in the main Patient Data section has been renamed to Dates and times, and is now a toggle.

  • The process for deleting a vital from within an encounter has been updated to match the steps for deleting patient data entries. When you delete or update a vital from an encounter, the change is immediately reflected in Patient Data > Vitals, and its history.

Since other areas pull from Patient Data > Vitals, these improvements ensure that vitals are consistent throughout the patient chart, including the patient header and flowsheets.

Adding insured payment details to encounter templates

You can now add insured payment details like Payment Issuer, Billing Practitioner and other provincial payment details to the Billing section of your encounter templates.

This means faster and more accurate billing since you can use encounter templates with the correct payment details.

For more information, refer to Creating encounter templates.

CHR Connect: Updated default new message notification

When you send a patient a message, the CHR Connect Message Notification text now clearly states that the patient needs to log in or sign up for CHR Connect.

CHR Connect: Smoother reconnection to virtual visits

It is now easier to reconnect with your patient if the virtual visit drops or you or the patient accidentally leave. When reconnecting to an already established virtual visit, you can now join before the patient. In the pathway card, Start video chat is replaced with Join video chat. When you click Join video chat, another invitation is sent to the patient.

Alberta: Displaying the print icon only when the WCB form is printable

To print a WCB form from an encounter, you need to sign the encounter and set the WCB form status to Ready. Therefore the print icon on the billing item is now displayed only after meeting these requirements.

Alberta: WCB fee code update

We added new WCB fee codes for Occupational Injury Service (OIS) clinics.

  • You can now bill fee codes OS01 and OS01V for the first OIS report.

  • You can now bill fee codes OS05 and OS05V as OIS equivalent fee codes for the 03.03A office visit.

  • The electronic reporting fee OS01F paid by Alberta WCB is now auto-generated at the time of remittance.

Fixes

Below is a list of bugs we have identified and fixed in this release. For more information, contact our TELUS Health support team.

  • When using the Text option to annotate a PDF patient file, the entire text once again shows when re-opening the file.

  • You can once again consistently re-order attachments in referrals.

  • We updated the insurer name from Equitable Life of Canada to Equitable to prevent eClaims submission errors.

  • For clinics using role-based access control (RBAC), when working in Summary view, you can once again open a patient file more than once without needing to refresh.

  • Ontario: When including forms in your Ocean eReferral, they are once again part of the corresponding eReferral in the Ocean portal.

  • Alberta: The description of a patient file attached to a WCB form is only included in the WCB submission file when the Attachment Type is set to Other. This prevents the submission from being refused.
