Duplicating a fee item on a bill
Updated over a week ago

You can quickly duplicate a previously billed fee item in two ways: by copying or cloning it.

Copying duplicates the fee items but includes todays date in any date and time fields, like the Service Date. This is helpful if you need to bill a similar service but with today's date.

On the other hand, cloning is an exact replica of every field in the fee item, including the date and time fields. This is helpful if you need to recreate the entire bill, for example to resubmit.

Steps

  1. Start a bill from an encounter, from the Visits dashboard, or from the patient's chart. Or you can open an existing bill to edit it.

  2. In the Edit Insured Payment or New Insured Payment window, click the clock icon beside the +Add Fee Item field. Or, in an encounter, click the clock icon beside +Insured Billing.

  3. A window appears showing the latest billing items for that patient. Beside the fee code you want to duplicate, select the copy or clone icon.

💡Tip: Hover over the icons to see a tooltip for each.

  4. The fee item is duplicated. Adjust the fields if needed and complete the bill as you normally would.
