When you send faxes from the TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR), the CHR attempts to deliver your faxes three times. If a fax fails to reach its destination, you can view the failure reason from your Outbox.
For more information about using the outbox, refer to Viewing outgoing items.
Steps
1. From the main menu, click Outbox.
Your Outbox shows a list of all faxes that you sent that were not successfully delivered to the recipient.
2. To view the reason why a fax failed, click its information icon.
The following table shows the different fax failure reasons you may encounter:
Fax failure reason | Description |
E06 Unspecified system error | An error was encountered while processing the fax. This is typically a fax system error but can also be caused by a corrupt document.
Contact the Support team so they can investigate the issue. |
E07 Rast farm error | An error was encountered while processing the fax. This is typically caused by a corrupt document but can also be a fax system error.
Contact the Support team so they can investigate the issue. |
E41 Number busy | The fax number was busy.
If this is a recurring issue with a specific fax number, you may want to confirm with the recipient that they can receive multiple faxes at one time. |
E42 No answer | The fax number didn't answer within 30 seconds.
Try sending the fax again. If the issue persists, contact the destination. If they are using a physical fax machine, it may be out of paper or unplugged. |
E43, E33 Human answer | A voice was detected (either human or a recording). |
E44 Interrupted fax transmission | The fax transmission was interrupted. Try sending the fax again. If the error persists, contact the Support team so they can investigate the issue. |
E45 Transmission cancelled by sender | You or someone in your clinic cancelled sending the fax. |
E46 Fax expired | The fax was stuck in a pending status and was not delivered. Contact the Support team so they can investigate the issue. |
E49 Communication error | The end-of-page command response was not received or was invalid. However, the recipient likely received the page.
Contact the recipient to confirm they received the fax in its entirety. |
E51 Destination fax number format invalid | The fax number is not in a valid format. For example, there may be too many or too few digits.
Check the fax number and ensure it is entered correctly. |
E53 Destination fax number not allowed | The fax number may be blocked or is not in a valid format. For example, international numbers may be missing the international prefix, or the number contains an invalid sequence of numbers (such as 123 or 555 for the exchange).
Check the fax number and ensure it is entered correctly. |
