Sorting the inbox (redesigned Inbox)
Updated this week

⚠️ Important: This is currently a beta feature. It will be available once the beta period is complete.

By default, the inbox shows Urgent items first. However, you can sort the inbox to customize how you view your and others' inbox items. For example, you can sort the inbox by Patient to review all of the inbox items for that patient ahead of their visit.

The system saves your configured sorting, so you don't need to set it each time you open the inbox. The sorting order you select applies to all of the user inboxes.

💡 Tip: You can also filter the inbox to see only relevant items for you; for more information, refer to Filtering the inbox.

Steps

1. From the main menu, click Inbox.

2. Click a column header to sort by that column. For example, click Date to sort by the date and time. An arrow appears to indicate that you are sorting by that column.

💡 Tips:

  • When the arrow points down, inbox items are sorted by recent items first or reverse alphabetical order. When the arrow points up, inbox items are sorted by oldest items first or alphabetical order.

  • When sorting by Patient or Sender, the first name is used.

  • When sorting by Summary, and the system automatically includes the patient's name in front of the title, the name is not included in the alphabetic sorting.

The inbox items are always secondarily sorted in chronological order. For example, when you sort by Priority, all urgent items are shown first in chronological order, followed by the non-urgent items in chronological order.

The star sorting is used in addition to another sort order. When enabled, the starred items are at the top of the list and the star in the column header is blue. Click the star in the column header to remove sorting by the star and return to sorting only by the other column.

For example, when the star and Priority are selected, starred items show first in chronological order, followed by urgent items in chronological order, and then all other inbox items in chronological order.
