Marking inbox items as done (redesigned Inbox)

Updated yesterday

When you have completed the work associated with an inbox item, you should mark it as Done to indicate that you dealt with it. This helps you organize your inbox.

As soon as you mark an inbox item done, its status changes to Done. In the Inbox, it appears only when you have the status filter set to Done. The Date column shows the date the inbox item was marked done with a checkmark icon.

💡 Tip: The Done filter defaults to showing items that were marked as done in the last week. Click the date filter to select a different date, or date range, but avoid clearing the date range to prevent your inbox loading slowly.

📌 Note: If you are part of a group message or shared the inbox item with other users, marking it as done does not affect the inbox item in the other users' inboxes.

Messages associated with a patient that are marked Done also appear in the Messages section of the patient’s chart. To change the Open status that appears in the Messages section, you must close the conversation.

Steps

  1. From the Inbox, click the inbox item to open it.

  2. Click Mark done.

📌 Notes:

  • You can also mark the inbox item as done from the inbox using quick actions or mass actions.

  • If you are the last person to mark an internal or patient message as done, a notification appears to let you know. You can select Close Conversation or only Mark done directly in the confirmation window.

3. To undo this action, click Unmark done. The inbox item’s status changes from Done to Active.
