Improvements
Redesigned patient search interface in the Quick Bill entry
📌Note: TELUS Health must manually enable this feature following the release. To ensure a smooth transition, this feature will gradually be made available over the next several weeks.
As part of our ongoing usability and design improvements, the Patient Search window first introduced in the Inbox and Patients now extends to billing. When you click Quick Bill Entry from the Billing Dashboard, you now see the updated patient search interface.
Redesigned inbox: Removal of redundant attachment information
To streamline the inbox interface, attachment cards that duplicate information already visible in the Summary column have been removed from Qnaires, files, labs, and faxes. This update provides a cleaner display and allows more room for the Summary without compromising functionality, as all attachment features are still easily accessible within messages.

Adding new items from the patient summary
You can now document more items quickly without navigating away from the patient summary.
When you click the new plus icon in the section header of Social History, Surgical History, Family History, Files and Admin Notes, the window opens directly within the summary view and you can easily document new information within these sections.
Adding a sending facility report number to patient files
The Upload File window now features a new Sending Facility Report Number field in the Additional Fields section. This unique identifier enables easy tracking and verification of scanned documents from different facilities.
In the Upload File window in a patient chart, when you upload a document, you can enter a specific facility report number in the field. Alternatively, you can leave the field blank and the system generates a report number automatically.
For documents imported from other systems, such as Health Report Manager (HRM) in Ontario, the field is populated automatically and is read-only.
PrescribeIT®: Managing dispense notifications for split dispenses
You can now easily identify split prescriptions and view complete dispensing details in the Dispenses tab alongside your original medication order.
For example, when the pharmacy adjusts the prescription by combining available medications to match your ordered strength, a red Split indicator appears, and you can see the reason for the split.
CHR Connect: Resending patient payment notifications
If your clinic uses CHR Connect, you can now resend a New Bill notification directly to patients for any unpaid private billing items.
In the Private Billing section of the patient chart, under All Payments, click Resend beside the amount due. In the window that opens, you can choose to send the notification via email or SMS. The Resend button only appears for bills linked to CHR Connect-enabled locations.
CHR Connect: New self-serve patient registration setting
A new Self-serve patient registration setting is now available in Settings > CHR Connect App. This setting is found in the newly renamed General tab (formerly App settings). When this setting is enabled, a new patient that doesn’t already have a patient record can register to your clinic through CHR Connect.
View Appointments is now enabled by default in the Appointments tab. The self-serve booking and self-serve check-in features are only visible if View Appointments is enabled.
For more information, refer to TELUS Collaborative Health Record Connect Settings.
AI-powered inbox: Viewing the number of documents processed
For clinics using the CHR AI-powered inbox, in Settings > AI-Powered Features, you can now view the total number of documents for the selected period (this month, this year, etc.). This new metric appears alongside existing token usage data, so you can easily track how many documents your clinic handles using AI.
For more information, refer to AI-powered inbox: Monitoring feature usage.
British Columbia: Shadow billing improvements
📌Note: TELUS Health must manually enable this feature following the release. It could take up to 24 hours before you see the functionality.
To streamline the shadow billing process, salaried providers can submit shadow billing claims to MSP more efficiently. The enhanced Teleplan integration enables you to submit bills directly within a single CHR account.
You can set your SAL payee number as the default option. When you need to submit the bill as fee-for-service, you can select the FFS Payee Number from the list under Payee Number. The system automatically clears the Shadow Bill checkbox and the billed amount is calculated accordingly.
To enable shadow billing, email the CARE team at care.emraccounts@telus.com.
For more information, refer to Shadow billing for provincial (MSP) claims (British Columbia).
New Brunswick: Streamlined workflow for Medicare Claims Entry (MCE) predetermination claims
The process for managing Predetermination Accepted or Predetermination Rejected claims is updated. To ensure your bills are handled correctly, you can no longer change the predetermination claim status to Draft or click the trash icon to delete the claim.
To resubmit a Predetermination Rejected claim, change its payment status to Ready to Submit, update the fee items, and click Save. This streamlined approach improves the tracking and management of rejected predeterminations.
To delete a Predetermination Accepted or Predetermination Rejected claim, change the claim status to Mark as Cancelled and then create a new bill for your claim.
For more information, refer to Submitting claims to Medicare Claims Entry (MCE) for predetermination (New Brunswick).
Ontario: Adjusting an assessed bill to match the paid amount
You can now adjust a billed amount to match the paid amount for MDBilling items that are in the Adjusted status and have a partial payment. This ensures that your billing reports are accurate.
To update the Billed amount to match the Paid amount, open the claim, and beside the billing item, click the Adjust billed amount to paid amount icon (card icon). The billing item status is updated to Paid and the claim status is updated to Completed.
To track adjustments, click Activity Logs in the top-right corner of the claim.
Fixes
When adding contacts, Sports Medicine once again appears in the Medical Specialty list. Existing contacts with a Sports Medicine specialty no longer appear as Thoracic Surgery.
The Patient Files search results retain your customized sort order.
Unpublished Qnaires previously attached to an appointment type are no longer sent for that appointment type when patients book it through eBooking.
You can once again save Other information to the Patient Data section of a referral.
When you send a message from the referral window, the patient name no longer appears as “undefined undefined” in the message and the Inbox.
When adding a Service Provider in the referral window, the New Contact window no longer overlaps with the list of providers, allowing you to once again add a new provider from the referral.
In form templates, Patient Data conditions applied to checkboxes and using an operator other than Equal or Not equal are saved correctly.
Outbox items now appear when you filter by All in the Patient Outbox if the patient has a CHR Connect account linked with their dependent.
You can once again view and edit the source code for a notification template.
Redesigned inbox:
You can star an inbox item when the star column is the last column on the right.
The inbox tabs are now always sorted alphabetically.
The search criteria, for example Last Name, used in the patient search is now remembered. This matches the functionality in other areas of the CHR.
The secondary chronological sort order correctly sorts items that were previously snoozed.
When you use the Done filter, and sort by the Summary column, the secondary chronological sort order works as expected.
If you have French enabled, Qnaire updates are now published when your currently selected language is different from the Qnaire.
New Brunswick: If you have French enabled, the lab result status, for example Final, is now translated into French.
Ontario: You are once again automatically logged into your MDBilling account when clicking the MD Billing link in the Insured Billing section.
📌 Note: New CHR versions are released on a regular bi-weekly schedule. However, there are times where a fix is released prior to the next scheduled release. These off-schedule release fixes are documented in the separate off-schedule release notes.
