Viewing and restoring archived patient charts

View and reactivate archived patients

Updated over a week ago

You can easily view the list of archived patients in your system.

If you accidentally archived a patient, or if a patient who moved away returns to your clinic, you can reactivate them. When you reactivate a patient, any future appointments that were cancelled remain cancelled.

💡 Tip: If you have a document for an archived patient, you must first reactivate the patient chart, attach the item, and then archive the chart again.

Steps

1. Search for the patient (see Searching for patients).

2. In the search window, select the Archived radio button. The list of archived patients appears.

3. To restore a patient, select the patient and click Reactivate.

📌 Note: If you restore a patient chart that was archived as part of a patient merge, a different warning message appears to inform you of the associated risks. If you choose to reactivate the patient, a Previously Merged Patient admin note is also added to the restored patient chart.
