January 14, 2026

Updated today

Improvements

Unlimited patient data properties in the chart header

You can now add as many patient data properties as needed to the patient chart header, with the previous limit of 10 removed. You can see at a glance the data that is important to you, without navigating to different areas of the chart.

For more information, refer to Customizing the patient data header.

Adding the location to appointment notification SMS messages

When configuring appointment SMS notifications, you can now include the Location Information variable to provide patients with the appropriate appointment location. This variable was previously available only in email notifications.

For more information, refer to Customizing notification templates.

PrescribeIT®: Merging patients with PrescribeIT® data

When merging patient records in the CHR, any PrescribeIT® data such as cancellation request responses, dispense notifications, and pharmacy communications are now transferred to the merged patient chart.

📌Note: You cannot merge patient charts if the original (source) patient chart includes any pending cancellation requests, or pharmacy communications that have been responded to but not marked as done.

Manitoba: Disclaimers on printed and faxed prescriptions

For clinics in Manitoba, printed and faxed prescriptions now include disclaimer text at the bottom of the prescription, to meet regulatory requirements for electronically transmitted prescriptions.

Manitoba: Fee code updates

When creating a bill, you can now select Opto Northern as a Location of Service. The appropriate percentage is automatically calculated and applied to the bill based on the service date.

Ontario: New facility number for billing

When creating a bill, you can now select facility number 7489.

PEI: Fee code updates

We updated the fee code list with the following changes:

  • Fee code 0505 is now available for Internal Medicine and QEH Closed ICU specialities.

  • Geriatric premium is removed from codes 1872, 1850, and 1851.

  • Emergency and weekend/holiday/evening premium rates are now available for fee codes 1460 and 1850.

Fixes

  • When creating a label template, variables are inserted at the cursor position instead of always inserting at the beginning.

  • You can once again assign an owner to a document by searching for the owner and pressing Enter {Return} to select them.

  • Clinic-wide and personal prescription favourites that have Continuous or Substitution Not Allowed set to Not Set now maintain this setting when you use the favourite, instead of changing to Yes.

  • When copying and pasting content from Google Sheets into an encounter, the content now saves correctly.

  • Text in encounter notes is no longer hidden under the formatting toolbar in the bottom-right of the History, Examination, and Assessment and Plan sections.

  • Extra line breaks are no longer added when you insert an encounter template.

  • The Assignee field in new tasks, task templates, and saved views now displays the user's display name instead of first and last name.

  • When filtering Referrals by referral data that contains a special character, like an apostrophe, the matching list of referrals now displays.

  • The Recently Updated sort option now works correctly for referrals on waitlists.

  • Appointment reminders for physical visits no longer incorrectly include virtual visit instructions.

  • If you filter the inbox while viewing multiple users’ inboxes in one tab, and then choose to Display inboxes in separate tabs, the filter results appear without manually refreshing the page.

  • PrescribeIT®: When selecting a facility to fax an item to, users no longer encounter a permission error if they do not have the Contacts permission.

  • PrescribeIT®: The overnight sync of PrescribeIT® pharmacy contacts now consistently completes successfully.

  • For clinics using Connect Pro and who have Self-serve check in enabled, push notifications for appointment check-ins are now sent as expected.

  • For clinics using the CHR's AI-powered writing tools, the sub-menus no longer overlap when you click the AI icon.

  • For clinics using role-based access control:

    • Encounter sections that a user does not have permission to view are now hidden as expected when the Encounter Settings are set to hide them.

    • You can once again edit a user group when there are a significant number of associated roles.

    • When using message variable templates, users without permission to access specific patient data (such as medications, lab results, or medical history) now consistently see a clear "Access denied: User not authorized for this data" message.

📌 Note: New CHR versions are released on a regular bi-weekly schedule. However, there are times where a fix is released prior to the next scheduled release. These off-schedule release fixes are documented in the separate off-schedule release notes.
