Improvements
Viewing new tasks in a movable pop-up window
When you create a new task, you can now view it as a pop-up window and move it freely around your screen. This aligns with the behaviour when viewing a task, and makes it easier to reference other parts of the CHR while creating a task, without losing your work.
Click the View in popup button at the top of the New task window.
Viewing task comments in real time
The Comments field in tasks now updates in real time without requiring you to refresh the page. Whether you’re viewing the main tasks list or looking at the details of a specific task throughout the CHR, any comments added by you or another team member appear instantly. If another user adds a comment to a task you are currently viewing, a notification appears in the top-right corner.
Distinguishing referral types in tasks
Referrals attached to a task now display unique icons for each referral type - incoming, outgoing, and internal. Previously, all three types used the same icon. This visual improvement helps you quickly identify the nature of each referral without having to open it.
Viewing the demographics snapshot in Visits
When you hover over a patient's name in the Visits dashboard, a demographics snapshot now appears and you can verify patient information quickly, eliminating the need to open the full patient chart.
Merging patients with additional identification values
The patient merge process now correctly handles identifications that share the same type but differ in additional values - for example, an OHIP number with different version codes. When merging the patients, additional values are accounted for and all unique identifications from the source patient are transferred to the target patient. Previously the additional values were not considered and the identification was seen as a duplicate if the primary identification values matched.
Viewing family and referring practitioner in the merge log
After merging two patient charts, the Merged Chart: Data for Review admin note now includes the source patient’s Family Doctor and Referring Practitioner information.
CHR AI-powered: Viewing AI suggestions without reloading
When you open a document from the inbox and click Doc info before AI has finished processing the document, the AI suggestions appear as soon as processing is complete. You no longer need to close and reopen the document editor to see the suggestions.
TELUS Health Connect: Updated default Connect message notification
We've updated the default email and SMS Connect message notifications to improve clarity and user experience. Email notifications include a clearer Launch Connect button instead of the previous Login button. SMS messages now use the patient's preferred name.
PrescribeIT®: Viewing connection status at a glance
The CHR now displays your PrescribeIT® connection status in more places, so you know immediately if there is a problem before attempting to send a prescription.
When your PrescribeIT® session is not connected or has failed to connect, a banner appears at the top of the window when selecting a pharmacy to notify you of the connection status.
Additionally, an icon appears next to your PrescribeIT® connection status when you click your avatar. An red exclamation icon indicates the connection has failed and a yellow warning icon indicates you are not connected.
📌 Note: In light of Infoway's announcement, we are no longer enabling PrescribeIT® in clinics.
PrescribeIT®: Confirmation before disabling PrescribeIT® services
When you or an administrator clears the Enable services checkbox in a user’s PrescribeIT® settings, a confirmation message now appears to explain the effect of disabling PrescribeIT® in the CHR. This allows you to make an informed decision before continuing. The confirmation message indicates that the user will no longer be able to send e-prescriptions or messages to pharmacies. More importantly, disabling PrescribeIT® in the CHR does not deactivate the user’s account in the Provider Registry, which means that pharmacies can still send messages to the user.
📌 Note: In light of Infoway's announcement, we are no longer enabling PrescribeIT® in clinics.
Role-based access control: Simplified access to prescription settings
For clinics using role-based access control, access to prescription settings is now determined by the user's Prescriptions: Create permission. The standalone Prescription settings permission has been removed. Users with the Prescriptions: Create permission can access provider-level prescription settings. Account-level settings remain restricted to the CHR Support account.
PEI: Fee code updates
We updated the fee code list to add the following new fees:
1892 - Service Encounter Ratio
1820 - Critical Care Transport Program Activation Fee
2490 - On-Call Retainer - Chief Public Health Office
0079 - Additional On-Call Add On Fee GP - Kings County Memorial & Western Hospitals
Fixes
Below is a list of bugs we have identified and fixed in this release. For more information, contact our TELUS Health support team.
Users can once again send scheduled Qnaires via mass actions without needing the Templates: encounters permission.
When you search for and select a medication from your favourites, and then search for and select a different medication, both medications are added to the prescription. Previously only the most recently-selected medication was saved.
You are now prompted to save your changes when you click Add Prescription from an encounter and then navigate away from the encounter before saving the prescription.
When changing an appointment’s status from Booked to Cancelled, you are prompted to send a notification to the patient.
On a domain with license classification enabled, a new staff account is no longer incorrectly created with an appointment schedule.
The extra unsaved changes message no longer appears when you create a new patient from the Search for a patient window, cancel adding the new patient and then cancel out of the Search for a patient window.
When viewing a patient’s demographics snapshot, there is no longer a comma after the phone number when there is only one phone number.
CHR AI-powered: When adding multiple family history items in an encounter note, the Family History AI agent now consistently provides suggestions for each item.
CHR AI-powered: When using the AI writing tool for a bulleted list, line breaks are added as expected instead of showing /n characters in the AI response.
When an authorized purchaser upgrades your Connect subscription to the Pro tier in the Add on screen, the Connect subscription now updates correctly.
PrescribeIT®-related messages (messages from pharmacies, delivery failures etc.) now remain marked as read when you return to the inbox after viewing the message.
PrescribeIT®: Prescriptions created from an encounter that failed to send electronically and were delivered by eFax instead now correctly show the eFax delivery record as well as the original failed send attempt in the prescription history.
When there are PrescribeIT® system-generated messages in the patient outbox, all items are displayed when the outbox filter is set to All.
📌 Note: New CHR versions are released on a regular bi-weekly schedule. However, there are times where a fix is released prior to the next scheduled release. These off-schedule release fixes are documented in the separate off-schedule release notes.
