You can filter the billing dashboard to generate and export customized reports. You can filter by service date, billing providers, billing codes, statuses, location, insurer, payment methods, patient identification and payment tags.

📌 Note: You can customize your view of the Billing dashboard to view only the information you want to see, as well as change the layout. See Customizing the Billing Dashboard.

There are some shortcut filters that can be used. If you want to have a quick look at only your billing items, select the person icon at the top right corner of the billing dashboard.

To quickly filter all your bills by specific time intervals, you can use the Preset Filters on the left side of the screen: Today, Yesterday, This Week, This Month, Last Month, and This Year.

📌 Note: If you use the same filter on a regular basis, you can create a saved billing dashboard filter. See Creating Saved billing dashboard filters.


1. From the main menu, click Billing to open the Billing dashboard.

2. Click anywhere on the menu of filter options to open the Current Filter window and filter by the following items:

Filter by



By default, the Billing dashboard opens to the current day.

  1. Click Service Date.

  2. Under Search by, select service date (appointment date), created date (date the bill was created) or paid date.

  3. Select a From and To date from the calendar. Alternatively select a day, month, and year from the From and To list under the calendar.

Billing Practitioner

By default, all providers are selected.

Click on All Billing Providers, type in the search field to find and select a specific provider, or scroll through the list and select the provider(s).


📌 Note: Make sure the correct Insurer for the specific billing codes is selected.

By default, all billing codes are selected.

Click All Code, type the Code or Description and select from the list that displays. You can add multiple codes.

💡 Tip: to clear the selected codes, you must deselect each one individually.


By default, all statuses are selected.

Click on All Statuses, type in the search field to find and select a specific status, or scroll through the list and select the status(es).

💡 Tip: to clear the selected statuses, you must deselect each one individually.


By default, all clinic locations are selected (if applicable).

Click All Locations and select the appropriate location from the list.


By default, all insurers are selected.

Click All Insurers and select the appropriate insurer from the list.

📌 Note: You can filter your bills using specific billing templates, including:

  • Insured billing provider templates

  • Third party templates

  • Private billing templates

Payment Methods

By default, all payment methods are selected.

Click All Payment Methods and search or select the appropriate method of payment from the list.

Patient Identification

By default, all identification types are selected.

Click All Identification Types and search or select the patient identification type from the list.

Payment Tags

📌 Note: This filter applies to clinics that use payment tags.

By default, no tags are selected.

  1. Select With or Without.

  2. Select And or Or.

  3. Click Payment Tags Filter and search or select the payment tag(s) from the list.


You can sort your bills by:

  • Service Date (default),

  • Created Date, or

  • Payment Amount.

You can select the order of your bills: Ascending or Descending (default).

3. Click Apply.

A list of filtered billing items appear.

You will see the corresponding total amount(s) in $ in the box on the left side panel.
