When you enter a OHIP number in a patient chart, and they have a Primary Practitioner assigned that is integrated with MDBilling, you will automatically see if the patient has a valid identification (OHIP number).
In the below screenshot, you can see that the patient has a valid OHIP number - a green check mark next to OHIP is displayed.
In the below screenshot, you can see that the patient does not have a valid OHIP number / identity could not be validated - a red cross next to OHIP is displayed.
💡 Tip: When clicking on the red cross, you are usually able to get an explanation as to why the OHIP number could not be validated.
Below are examples of errors:
⚠️ Important: Ensure that the patient's names (including middle name) and date of birth have been spelled and entered correctly.
If a patient’s Name and Date of Birth are not exactly the same as how the patient is registered with the Ministry of Health (MOH), the OHIP number will be marked as invalid.
