Requiring patients to verify their identity when accessing the appointment booking site (eBooking)
Updated over a week ago

When patients known to your clinic self-book or request appointments through your appointment booking site, you can require them to verify their identity.

They are prompted to enter their last name, date of birth, gender, provincial health number and mobile phone number or email address.

💡 Tip: Ensure that the identification type you want them to sign in with is portal visible.

⚠️ Important: The information they enter must match their information in the TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR).

If the information matches, the patient receives a one-time passcode through text or email, which they must enter before they can continue with the booking process.

Steps

1. From the main menu, click Settings > Scheduling.

2. Click the Extra tab.

3. In the Verify Existing Patients list, select one of the following options:

  • Yes: Patient is required to verify their identity.

  • No: Patient is not required to verify their identity.

4. Click Submit.

5. Refresh your browser for the changes to take effect.
