What’s new in the CHR

Improvements

New release check and refresh on login

The system now checks for a new CHR version on login and refreshes the page to apply any changes.

Success notification: File attached to patient from the Inbox

When you attach a document to a new or existing patient from the Inbox, the system now displays a success message in the upper-right.

Product and stock management interface improvements

Settings > Product is now Settings > Inventory and uses clearer labels and button styles as part of our ongoing usability and design improvements. To learn more, visit Managing your products and stock.

⚠️ Note: Due to an issue with dollar amounts not including the decimal point, these interface improvements were removed in 23.23.1.

Referral user interface improvements

To improve the search experience when you select a provider for a referral:

  • The Ordering provider and Service provider fields are now on separate lines with more space for results.

  • A loading spinner no longer blocks text entry.

  • You can create a new provider contact from search results by selecting the option + New physician at the bottom of the list.

  • You can now clear a selected provider by clicking the X to the right of their name.

You can now enter custom text into Reason for referral without having to click Save Custom Text.

Alberta: New Principal Result Interpreter header field for Connect Care radiologist reports

Connect Care diagnostic imaging reports from Epic Radiant now show the radiologist’s name in a Principal Result Interpreter field in the header.

Alberta CII/CPAR: New and updated fields included in extracts

Encounter extracts now include:

  • Provider role and middle name.

  • Allergies, referrals, and Medical History items added or updated during an encounter.

  • ICD-9 codes in the Observation encounter clinical assessment field.

Consult reports now include:

Fixes

Below is a list of bugs we have identified and fixed in this release. For more information, contact our TELUS Health support team.

  • When you update an admin note, the last updated field now shows your name instead of the person who created the note.

  • In Patient Files, when you hover over the file name of a lab report with a long list of lab tests, the tooltip now displays the entire list of lab test names.

  • The inbox message preview now displays the less-than <, greater-than >, and ampersand & characters correctly.

  • When you search for a lab result from Patient Files, the system now returns results from within the file, not just the filename.

  • When account time is set with the format HH:MM or H:MM, timestamps for vitals and files added from an encounter no longer display minutes as :07.

  • The Growth Chart widget in the dashboard view of the chart now loads properly when it includes a head circumference entry.

  • When you attach an incoming eReferral to an existing patient record, the attached referral includes all Qnaires and files from the eReferral.

  • The PrescribeIT®-related fields in a Qnaire no longer appear if PrescribeIT® is not enabled for your domain.

  • You can once again edit a preferred pharmacy answer type in a Qnaire response from a patient.

  • Updating a patient’s family doctor from the Family Doctor dashboard widget now searches the Healthcare Directory and your local contacts.

  • Alberta CII/CPAR: You can now send more than one consult report to Netcare from a single encounter without overwriting the previous report in Netcare.

  • Ontario: Added code 249 Pre-diabetes and 249 Secondary diabetes to the ON Diagnostic List template.
