Campaigns are messages you can send to your patients. They are useful if you want to inform your patients about a new provider joining your practice or your holiday hours, for example. You can send two types of campaigns to either an individual patient or multiple patients.
With the CHR Connect In-App campaign, you can create a custom message to display for the patient in the Broadcasts section of the CHR Connect Home page. Additionally, you can send a push notification advising them of the new message.
π Note: To see your message, the patient must enable Commercial/marketing consent and to receive the push notification, they must have Push notifications enabled. For more information, refer to TELUS CHR Connect Settings (for patients).
With the CHR Connect Invitation, you can email your patients an invitation to use CHR Connect. The default template includes all the information to easily connect their account with your clinic. If needed, you can customize the email for your clinic needs.
To perform this action, you must have the Campaigns permission (go to User permissions).
Steps
From the main menu, click Campaigns. The Campaigns section opens and displays your existing campaigns.
To manage an existing campaign, select your campaign from the list.
π Note: The campaign Status shows if the campaign has been delivered to patients, it does not reflect if the message is visible in the Broadcasts section of CHR Connect.
To create a new campaign, click New Campaign.
Complete the fields in the Campaign Detail window using the reference table below.
Field | Description |
Template Type | The type of message you want to send.
Select CHR Connect Invitation or CHR Connect In-App. |
Delivery Method | If you select CHR Connect Invitation, Email is automatically selected. If you select CHR Connect In-App, In-App is automatically selected.
π Note: You can only send the message via this method. |
Name | The internal name of your campaign. It is not visible to the patient. |
Verified | Not applicable. |
Duration of Campaign | Only applies for CHR Connect In-App.
You can determine the dates the message is visible to the patient in the Broadcasts section of CHR Connect.
π Note: The patient cannot remove the message on their own, it remains visible until the campaign ends. |
Invitation Expires In | Only applies for CHR Connect Invitation.
You do not need to fill this out; the invitation is valid for 3 days. |
Message Templates | Click In-App or Email and the Customize In App Preview or Email Notification window opens.
Create or edit the message text. For CHR Connect Invitation, the default template pre-populates.
You can use the formatting toolbar at the top, or add variables to populate information from the CHR or the patient chart.
When you are happy with your message, click Save. |
4. In the Campaign Detail window, click Save and the campaign is created.
5. To add patients to the campaign, in the top-right corner of the campaign, select the add patients icon.
Choose if you want to add a Single Patient or Multiple Patients to the campaign.
π Note: You can add up to 5,000 patients.
If you select Single Patient, search for a patient as you normally would.
If you select Multiple Patients, you can either define a segment of patients, or import a list.
To define a segment of patients, click Add Condition and fill in the applicable fields.
For example, to send the CHR Connect invitation to all patients who do not have the app, under Resource, select Connected external system, then under Comparator, select is not equal to, and under Value select CHR Connect.
To import a list of patients, click the paperclip icon and select a CSV file from your computer. The list must contain the patient's CHR ID.
π‘ Tip: You can use the Patient Search analytics dashboard to create the list.
Click Assign.
If it is a CHR Connect invitation, nothing happens.
If it is an in-app broadcast message and the campaign is currently running, the message is automatically visible in the Broadcasts section for those patients.
6. To send the message to the assigned patients, click Start.
π Note: You can add more patients to the list and start the campaign again. The message will only go to the new patients.
If it is a CHR Connect invitation, the email is sent.
If it is an in-app broadcast message, a push notification is sent informing them that they have a new message. The patient must log in to CHR Connect to read the message.
π Note: The message is visible in the Broadcasts section for the assigned patients while the campaign is active, regardless of you sending the push notification.
7. All the patients assigned to the campaign appear in the list.
The Status column indicates if the push notification or email has been delivered.
The Date column shows the date they were added to the campaign. This is not necessarily the date of delivery.
8. The table below shows the other actions you can perform for your campaign.
Icon | Description |
| To remove the patient from the campaign, click the X beside their name. If you have not started the campaign, they will not receive the message. For active in-app broadcast campaigns, the message is removed from the Broadcasts section. |
| Search for a patient that the campaign has already been assigned to. |
| Click to refresh the patient list. |
Click to modify the campaign details. |
