📌 Note: Only the TELUS CHR Support account can import XML charts. Contact the CHR support team through the support chat for more information.
Patient charts can be imported from another CHR or EMR system, provided that they were exported properly to an XML file (refer to Exporting patient charts to a XML file).
The files must meet the following requirements:
They are OntarioMD certified files. Refer to the OntarioMD Core Data Set (CDS) Standard specifications.
Any external files (e.g. images) are added to a ZIP file with the XML files. Here is an example of a ZIP file:
Before importing in XML, the TELUS CHR Support account must enable this feature. Contact the TELUS Health support team through the support chat.
⚠️ Important: To protect patient privacy, securely destroy the files immediately after they are successfully imported into the new CHR system.
Steps
From the main menu, select Settings > OntarioMD > Import.
In the top-right corner, click Import File, then select EMR.
From the file explorer window, select the ZIP file that contains the XML files and attachments, and click Open.
The import starts. Refresh your browser to update the Status.
Once the status changes to Done, patients are imported. Any errors appear in the Stats column. Click the import to see Import Details.
