With the CHRโs smart automation feature, managing referrals received through the inbox becomes more efficient. Instead of manually selecting ordering or service providers, the CHR's AI-powered feature analyzes the document content to suggest them.
For more information on incoming referrals, refer to Incoming referrals.
Steps
In your Inbox, open the fax or uploaded document.
Click Match patient. For more information, refer to CHR AI-powered: Patient matching for incoming documents.
๐ Note: If you want to ensure a new patient is only added to your patient list after they are registered via the referral actions, at the bottom of the window, click Referral. Click the person icon to add the patient. Refer to Adding a patient. This is helpful if you reject the referral.
At the bottom of the window, click Referral.
The New Referral - Incoming window opens.
In the Ordering Provider field, select a provider from the list.
๐Notes:
If the system finds a match, it appears at the top of the CHR AI suggestions list with an AI icon.
If the system finds a potential provider but cannot match them, they appear in small text at the bottom of the list.
The system searches your contacts list or the Healthcare Directory, if you have it enabled.
You can also manually search for the provider from your Contacts or click +New provider to add a new provider. To change the provider, click the X to the right of their name and search for or add a different one.
In the Service Provider field, select a provider from the list.

To change the service provider, click the name and select a new one from the list.
6. Fill in the remaining fields of the referral. Refer to Incoming referrals.
7. Click Save & close.
Your referral is now created.
