Rostering patients to family medicine (New Brunswick)

Updated this week

⚠️ Important: This is currently a beta feature, available to a few CHR beta users in order to test and provide feedback. It will be available to more users once the beta period is complete.

You can roster a patient for family medicine using the FMNB Rostering widget in the patient's dashboard view.

Before you can roster patients to family medicine, confirm the following:

⚠️Important: If these conditions are not met, the system greys out the FMNB Rostering widget and you cannot proceed.

Steps:

  1. At the top of the patient's chart, click the Dashboard icon.

  2. In the FMNB Rostering widget, click Roster Status Update.

💡 Tip: Click the clock icon to view the patient's roster history in the CHR.

3. To check the patient's roster eligibility status, click the Roster Eligibility Check icon.

4. The CHR submits the eligibility request using the patient's primary practitioner and immediately returns the roster status along with any additional messages from Medicare.

📌 Note: Medicare may update or remove the message "currently rostered to another provider" in the future.

5. The patient must agree to this transfer before you update the roster status and terminate the roster with the previous provider.

6. To roster the patient and update, click Roster Status Update.

7. In the Roster Status Update window, the system automatically populates the primary practitioner field.

📌 Note: Only the "Roster Exception" status requires you to provide a reason.

8. Click Roster Status Update.

9. Upon rostering the patient, the system confirms the status update, displays the primary practitioner, current status, and any messages on the widget, and sets a permanent termination date.

📌 Note: If you roster the patient to a different provider, the system automatically de-rosters the patient from the previous provider.
