Delegating billing access to individual users and groups

Updated today

📌 Note: Billing segregation is not yet available. This feature is currently in development and will be rolled out at a later date.

By default, all users can view billing information. Billing segregation ensures users can only view their own provider's billing information. This prevents unauthorized access to other providers' financial data while allowing TELUS support to maintain full visibility across all provider accounts for oversight and support.

Billing access delegation enables you to grant selective access to your billing information within your own provider account. You can authorize specific team members such as your clinic's MOA team or billing clerks to view your billing records. You maintain full control over who has access and can revoke permissions at any time.

When you grant billing access to a user, they can view your bills from:

  • Billing dashboard

  • Bills created in encounters

  • Patient chart (insured and private billing)

  • Visits dashboard (insured and private billing)

⚠️Important: Billing access delegation must be configured before billing segregation is enabled. We recommend setting up your delegation list now so your clinic is ready when billing segregation takes effect at a later date.

Steps

  1. At the top of the main menu, click your avatar image > Profile.

💡Tip: If you have Edit Other Users and Billing delegation settings permissions, you can configure billing delegates for other users. This enables administrators to set up delegation lists for multiple providers at once, rather than requiring each provider to configure their own.

  2. Click the Billing tab at the top right of your profile.

  3. In the Search for active members or groups field, type the name of the user or group you'd like to delegate billing access to and select them from the search results.

    • When a group is selected, the group name is added to the delegation list along with the number of users within that group.

4. To revoke billing access for a user or group, click the trash can icon next to their name.
📌 Note: If a user is deactivated after being added to the delegation list, they will remain on the list and you must manually remove them.

5. Click Save.

6. When prompted, enter your password to confirm and save your changes.
