Improvements

Adding health profile variables to the patient header and dashboard widget

The patient data header and dashboard widget configuration now supports social history and obstetrical care health profile variables alongside existing lab and patient data variables.

To set up these elements, in the patient chart dashboard view, click Manage on the Data Elements widget or click the gear icon if the patient data header already exists. In the Manage Data Elements in dashboard and header window, search for and select the health profile variables to add. The system labels them with a Health Profile tag to distinguish them from patient data variables.

To view or update a health profile variable, click in the header or widget to open the most recent health profile record. When you click Save, the system automatically updates the corresponding label in the patient data header or Data Elements dashboard widget.

For more information, refer to Customizing the patient data header.

Auto-populating the patient email address when emailing a prescription

When you generate a prescription PDF and click Email to send a copy of a prescription to a patient, if the patient has an email address on file, it automatically populates in the To field. You can edit the email address before sending, if needed.

Recording an allergy or adverse reaction when stopping a single medication

When you stop a single medication from the medication list or when prescribing and select Allergy or Side effect/Intolerance as the reason, the system automatically opens the Add drug allergy window. You can then record the allergy or adverse reaction in the patient's record.

📌 Note: This applies only when stopping a single medication, not when stopping multiple medications at once.

For more information, refer to Stopping medications.

Snoozing an open inbox message

You can now snooze a message directly from the open message without closing it first. Click the Snooze icon (clock) in the top right corner and select your snooze date from the Snooze until list. When the message closes, a confirmation appears, and the message moves to the Snoozed folder.

For more information, refer to Snoozing inbox items.

Ontario: Updated diagnostic codes

The CHR diagnostic code library is now updated with the following:

New diagnostic codes

  • 308 – Gender Dysphoria

  • 489 – Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)

Removed diagnostic codes

  • 903 – Social, Marital and Family Problems: Illegitimacy

PEI: Held status for fee items

Billing items with pending transactions now show as Held status in the CHR. Click the information icon next to the item to view transaction details.

Fixes

  • When selecting a favourite medication with a very long display name, it truncates with an ellipsis in the Favourite Medications window. Hover over the name to view the full display name for that medication.

  • In the patient chart, the updated value shows in the Data Elements widget having to refresh.

  • The count displayed beside Current in the Patient’s Medications window now correctly reflects the number of medications in that list, rather than the total number of prescribed entries.

  • When generating PDF invoices for private bills, the system now includes the default practitioner’s license number and billing reference.

  • Hyperlinks added to the Homepage Bulletin board are now clickable.

  • In the Health Profile, you can now enter multiple free text items in the diagnosis code field of Medical History, Surgical History, or Family History without having to save between each entry.

  • When modifying a medication's dosage instructions, the original prescribed entry is now preserved and remains visible in the medication list alongside the new modified entry, labelled with the modification date.

  • Incoming lab results with a single observation item no longer incorrectly mark earlier results sharing the same accession number as historical.

  • The Medications window no longer displays the unused navigation arrows that appeared beside the year row on the medication timeline.

  • When an assigned provider account is deactivated, their name now remains visible in the Primary Practitioner widget with a (Deactivated) indicator beside it.

  • Requested appointments now appear in the appointment scheduler side view in real time, without requiring a manual refresh.

  • Navigating between days, locations, and provider filters in the scheduler no longer causes a delay when the requested appointments list is displayed.

📌 Note: New CHR versions are released on a regular bi-weekly schedule. However, there are times where a fix is released prior to the next scheduled release. These off-schedule release fixes are documented in the separate off-schedule release notes.
