If a service code requires a comment (for example, to explain why you're billing the service code or why the claim is late), from the Edit Teleplan Billing Item window, you can add a note. This note is sent to Teleplan along with the service code.


1. Start a bill from an encounter, from the Visits dashboard or from the patient's chart. If you're editing a bill, open the bill from the Billing dashboard.

2. Add a billing item (service code) to the bill or click to edit a billing item. See Adding and modifying billing items (service codes) for MSP bills (British Columbia).

3. In the Edit Teleplan Billing Item window, click Edit Note.

4. In the Note window, type your comments, and click Update.

When the billing item is saved, in the bill, the note displays beside the service code - allowing you to see at-a-glance that a comment is added.
